Are you Interested in Set Design?

For anyone interested in set design or musical theatre you HAVE to see Les Mis, it is amazing... it's back in Toronto for the first time since 1989 and the show is an absolute classic. The music is so powerful, the show is amazing, and the set design is one of the best I've seen in the city.

Check it out!!

"Brew Corner"

Hey guys :)

As promised, we have set up "Brew Corner" on the second floor in the studio :)

"Brew Corner" is a place for you to seek information about events happening in and around RSID and Toronto for your pleasure and your PASSPORTS!

It is also a place for you to write down any SUGGESTIONS you may have for us. It's primarily for questions or concerns regarding the program and any requests for TUTORIALS that you would find helpful!

Let us know what you think!

Back to School:

See y'all tomorrow :)

Orientation Day 2:

In the morning we were very grateful to have Dana Thompson from the Ryerson Library, Pavy Lazare and Georgi Alishand from ARIDO and Joan Shaw from the RSID Internship office come to speak to us about their respective services. A big thank you to each them for taking the time to speak with us!

Don't forget to sign up to be a Student Member at ARIDO (it's free and a great way to stay informed about the industry): http://www.arido.ca/english/membership/membership-categories.html#Student

In the afternoon we visited the AGO to see the Ai Weiwei show (http://www.ago.net/aiweiwei/). If you're interested in learning more about him, watch his documentary "Ai Weiwei: Never Sorry", available on Netflix (http://aiweiweineversorry.com).

We then split into four groups and visited the following firms:

Figure 3 (http://figure3.com)
Mason Studio (http://www.mason-studio.com)
Yabu Pushelberg (http://www.yabupushelberg.com)
Daniel Johnson Architect Inc. (http://www.johnsonnorbraten.com/daniel.php)

Thank you to all the representatives from these firms who took the time to share their work, experiences and advice with us!
